Article 610 of the Penal Code

Whoever, on the occasion of an armed conflict, uses or orders the use of methods or means of combat that are prohibited or intended to cause unnecessary suffering or superfluous harm, as well as those designed to cause or which can fundamentally be expected to cause extensive, lasting and serious damage to the natural environment, compromising the health or survival of the population, or orders no quarter, will be punished with a prison sentence of 10 to 15 years, without damage of the penalty that corresponds to the results produced.
