Article 500 of the Penal Code

The authority or public official who detains a member of the Cortes Generales or of a Legislative Assembly of an Autonomous Community outside of the assumptions or without the requirements established by current legislation will incur, depending on the case, the penalties provided for in this Code, imposed in its upper half, and also in the special disqualification for employment or public office from six to twelve years.
