For the purposes of the previous article, currency is understood as legal tender and paper money and that which has not yet been officially issued or put into circulation but is intended for circulation as legal tender. Those of other countries of the European Union and foreign currencies will be equated to the national currency.
Counterfeit currency will also be deemed to be that which, despite being made in the facilities and with legal materials, is made knowingly in breach of the issuance conditions established by the competent authority or when it is issued in the absence of any issuance order.
